In the Family Faith Formation program adults and children meet together with catechist leaders and other families to practice their faith, share beliefs, explore how to make God an everyday part of life. This format has the ability to keep children engaged long after they receive their sacraments.
The Sunday morning program is primarily focused on children in lower grades beginning in 1st grade. Once a month, typically the first Sunday of the month, we have our traditional faith formation session. Parents and children will join together for opening and closing prayer. Children will attend class by grade. Parents will meet in small groups, led by Sharon Chipman, for reflection on the daily readings in order to allow them to enter more deeply into their week ahead.
Three times through the year we will have an additional session where families will join together in celebration of our liturgical seasons. The combination of instruction time and outreach/social events will help to immerse our children in their faith through education, prayer and community.
All children are asked to attend 9:00 a.m. Mass and Children’s Liturgy of the Word. At the end of Mass, families will be dismissed prior to the closing hymn. Please enjoy a donut and coffee and proceed to the Meeting Rooms. Class will begin at 8:15 a.m.
